Mary Arlene Pelkey

ST. ALBANS – Mary Arlene Pelkey, age 95, passed peacefully Sept. 6, 2026, at Franklin County Rehabilitation Center.

Mary was born in Fair Haven on Dec. 4, 1930. She was the daughter of Francis and Aline (Goodrich) Pelkey. She attended Shoreham Academy and graduated from Mount Saint Joseph, and earned her degree from Rutland Business College. Mary had worked for many years for the State of Vermont. She was an avid reader and was devoted to her faith.

She is survived by her long-time friend, Lynne Wright. She was predeceased by a brother and a sister.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Sept. 15, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Fair Haven. Rev. Julian Asucan, pastor, will be the celebrant. The graveside committal service and burial will follow the Mass in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
