Alburgh marks landmark Fourth of July with annual parade
ALBURGH – With flags and banners in tow, the Alburgh community celebrated this year’s landmark Independence Day with its annual parade, bringing fire engines and floats from across the region through Alburgh for the holiday.
Coloring this year’s parade was the United States’ 250th anniversary, with participants decorating their floats and vehicles in honor of the Declaration of Independence and America’s founding. Joining the procession were line dancers, Super Soakers, horseback riders and emergency responders.
Lorraine Deyo served as this year’s grand marshal, helping lead the parade with a color guard from the American Legion, a Vermont State Police cruiser and an ambulance from Alburgh Rescue.
