Robert Wadsworth-Griggs Slack II – (1976-2025)
Jay, ME – Robert Wadsworth-Griggs Slack II, lovingly known as Rob, 49, passed away on Dec. 17, 2025, in Augusta, Maine after a short and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was born in Saint Albans on Dec. 7, 1976, to Vicky Slack and Greg Moody. Rob was a devoted and loving single father to his two daughters, Sadie and Kaylee. They were his greatest pride in life. He loved them deeply and worked hard every day to give them love, guidance and stability.
Robert worked independently for many years as a skilled carpenter and roofer. He was most recently working for Fortin Construction in Jay, Maine.
Rob had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and the simple joys in life, with fishing being one of his greatest passions. He loved to ice fish in the winter, cast a line in the rivers and lakes, and spend long days on the water in the summer months. He was always eager to share the experiences with his daughters, friends and family. He also enjoyed hunting, camping and tending to his plants. His fun loving spirit, humor, and quiet strength will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his mother, Vicky Moody of Swanton; his grandfather, Robert WG Slack; his daughter, Sadie Slack and her fiancé, Maxx Ingison; his daughter, Kaylee Slack; his brothers, Greg Moody and his fiancée, Amanda Longway, Harvey Moody, Tyler Moody, and his special friend Carly Hope; his sister, Victoria Blakesley and her husband, AJ. Rob is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins, all of whom he loved dearly.
Rob was predeceased by his father, Gregory Moody; his grandmother, Dottie Slack; and his uncle, Dick Moody.
Rob’s life was a gift to all who knew him and his memory will remain in our hearts forever.
The family of Rob Slack invites friends and loved ones to a celebration of life in his honor. The gathering will be held on May 30 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Lakewood Campground, 122 Champlain St., Swanton, VT. Hors d’oeuvres 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., dinner will be served at 4 p.m.
